Techniques

01

PCT - PERSON-CENTERED THERAPY

The humanistic theory/approach believes all people possess an inherent need to grow and can achieve their potential; sometimes, they need some guidance and support in the therapy process.

02

CBT- COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

This approach believes people can change negative behaviour patterns related to the environment by activating behavioural techniques. This process helps to rewire the brain and overcome anxiety, depression, and Intrusive Thoughts.  Psychoeducation is one of the interventions that might apply in CBT, it is education about a certain situation or condition that could be the cause of psychological stress.

03

MEDITATION / MINDFULNESS

Meditation is one of the mindful practices that refers to the technique of relaxation and training your concentration, thus improving your quality of life. It can also help to focus and observe feelings without judgment.

04

BREATHING TECHNIQUES

It is another evidence-based Mental Health treatment, as one more intervention in the process of therapy. Breathing exercise is intended to make you more aware of your body’s consciousness, and also more conscious about your thoughts and feelings, it can help to calm you down and relax during panic attacks events and/or prevent any stressors in your life.

About me

Hi, I am Amelia!

I'm glad you are here. I am overseas qualified as a psychologist registered as a Counselor and Psychotherapist in Australia MACA CLINICAL  level 4 21190 based in Sydney.

I am passionate and dedicated to psychotherapy and counselling. I have worked for more than 25 years in Brazil's social and educational analogy fields, clinical Psycho and now in Australia.

Over the past years, I  found myself very blessed to start that professional and personal journey in my life to assist in supporting clients’ Mental health / emotional needs; I am grateful to be part of the transformations life in the therapy process for clients.

In 2005,  I  migrated to Australia – Sydney. Since then, I have had a chance to implement a new optimistic philosophy to face all the immigrant challenges I had to deal with. All these experiences made me better understand and adapt my habits to this new multicultural country.

I can say that I recreated my history from a new cycle of family, friends, and colleagues in a professional environment. The opportunity to connect with clients who possess various backgrounds encouraged me to primate my techniques to adapt myself to different perspectives and needs.

Therefore, I commit myself to continue working in the counselling field to assist and support clients who might experience transformations in their lives in the therapy process to better emotional healthy well-being by using and applying my ethical professional skills acquired not only from my Bacharel Degree but also from my experience as psychotherapy in Brazil.  In this direction, I've decided to continue my studies about COUNSELLING in Australia's blessed country.
